Understanding AI Governance: A Visual Learning Experience
I created the AIGP Study Guide Series to make AI governance simple. Bridging the gap for non-technical learners through clear explanations, thoughtful visuals, and accessible, confidence-building lessons.

Audience: AIGP candidates, legal/compliance/risk teams, and tech-curious beginners
Responsibilities: Curriculum Mapping, Topic Research, Scriptwriting, Visual Design, Recording & Editing, LMS Setup
Tools Used: Canva, CapCut, Google Suite, PowerPoint, YouTube, TalentLMS

The Problem
Many AIGP candidates feel unprepared and unsure what to study, especially those without technical backgrounds.

Through an independent needs analysis of Reddit discussions and online forums, I found that learners repeatedly said the official IAPP materials didn’t align with the real exam. This gap creates unnecessary stress for candidates—particularly when the exam itself costs over $1,000, and official prep programs add even more expense.

The issue is rooted in a lack of accessible, plain-language training that helps non-technical professionals understand how AI systems actually work. When learners can’t find that clarity, the consequences ripple:

-
Candidates struggle to connect AI concepts to governance frameworks.
-
Non-technical professionals feel excluded from conversations about AI compliance.
-
The high cost of trial-and-error retakes discourages career growth and confidence.
The Solution
I designed a free, self-paced eLearning series that simplifies the AIGP Body of Knowledge into approachable, plain-language lessons. Each module focuses on clarity, relevance, and confidence-building for non-technical learners preparing for the exam.

This solution was:

-
Clarifying: Breaks down dense AI frameworks into visual aids and plain-English explanations that make even technical concepts feel intuitive and approachable.
-
Innovative: Unlike most AIGP courses that skim over how AI works, this series uses visuals and step-by-step breakdowns to make complex topics approachable.
-
Immersive: Blends animation, motion graphics, and guided narration to keep learners engaged and actively connecting ideas rather than memorizing definitions.
By applying Bloom’s Taxonomy as the foundation for lesson design, from remembering and understanding key AI concepts, to applying and analyzing how they fit within real-world governance scenarios. This structure helps learners move beyond memorization toward practical comprehension and confident exam performance.
This course will help learners not just study for an exam, but truly understand how AI governance works.

My Process
I followed a structured approach:

-
Map & Structure: Converted the AIGP BoK into a clear module sequence with focused learning goals.
-
Research & Scripts: Thoroughly researched each topic and wrote concise, beginner-friendly scripts.
-
Visual Design: Created supportive diagrams and slides in Canva to simplify complex ideas.
-
Produce & Edit: Recorded and edited lessons; published as a dedicated YouTube playlist.
-
LMS Delivery: Organized modules in TalentLMS, uploaded slide materials, and added quick checks/mini-quizzes to reinforce learning.
Results and Takeaways
Although not created for a corporate client, this project demonstrates how clear, accessible learning design can make complex technology understandable for everyone.

-
Financial Value: Reusable, self-paced prep that reduces the need for repeated live instruction.
-
Strategic Value: Builds shared AI literacy across non-technical teams.
-
Personal Value: Gives beginners confidence fast by answering the questions they’re most likely to ask.

Each module builds on the last, creating a foundation that grows alongside the evolving world of AI.

Because when knowledge is shared freely, it empowers individuals to grow, advance, and pursue what once felt out of reach.
